Kristallnacht Program – Sunday, November 21

 In Uncategorized

We will have the privilege this year of hosting Silvia Foti for our annual Kristallnacht Lecture, generously sponsored by the Martin and Henrietta Fox Memorial Fund (originally bequeathed to Ezra Habonim Congregation).

Sylvia is the author of The Nazi’s Granddaughter: How I Discovered My Grandfather Was a War Criminal.  Foti’s memoir is a quintessential study of Holocaust distortion.  The National Book Review said this about her memoir: “Determined and resourceful, Foti pieced together the facts with sensitivity, conviction, and a sense of narrative that revealed the ugly truth: Her grandfather did not rescue Jews; he perpetuated their elimination as they were starved, beaten, raped, and killed in ghettos in an effort to eliminate Jews from Lithuania.”  More information on Sylvia is available at www.silviafoti.com.

Our format will be distinctive this year, with a blending of in-person and Zoom.  We welcome you to come to shul at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 21st.   We will begin with mincha, then do Sylvia’s lecture, and then conclude with ma’ariv.

Non-members are welcome but, as with all activities in the building, they must have proof of vaccination on file with us.  We would also very much appreciate having RSVPs so that we can plan for any possible capacity issues.
